Wynning Moments

Certified Meeting Professional – Healthcare

Meetings in the Life Science Industry are managed by a very specific set of regulations and best practices. In 2014 the Events Industry Council added a healthcare subspecialty to their prestigious CMP program. The goal is to recognize those in the industry who have a superior understanding and mastery of this very unique industry. There are currently less than 60 people worldwide who have successfully obtained this designation. I am now one of them. On November 6, 2017 I passed the test and received the CMP-HC credential.

Healthcare & pharmaceutical brands can now turn to Wynning Touch to address stringent requirements around their healthcare-focused meetings.

The 4th Quarter of the Year was all about Fun!

For several years meeting and event planning has been listed in business journals as one of the most stressful careers. It helps to have great clients and fun events to counteract the stress. I started the 4th quarter of 2017 by working one of my favorite events, The Bridge Builders 11th Annual Champions of Education Charity Golf Tournament. This amazing event raises funds to award college scholarships to African American males in the Greater Los Angeles area. The money raised also supports the Foundation’s minority youth educational programs.  I am excited to be currently working with them on their 36th Annual Salute Awards program. If you would like to help in the effort to send deserving young men to college, please consider sponsoring this year’s Salute.

In October 2017,  I attended one of my favorite conferences and tradeshows, IMEX America. Over 12,000 representatives of the hospitality industry met at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. More than 3,000 companies from 150 countries conducted appointments with meeting planners. This is the perfect place to find venues and vendors for my clients. I also had a choice of more than 200 educational offerings. The highlight of the week was receiving my Level 1 Certificate in the Event Design Mastery Program. The skills learned from this program help me guide my clients through a strategic process that allows us to design innovative events that meet the needs of all stakeholders.

I have had the pleasure of planning Fidelity National Title’s holiday celebration since 2013.  2017’s theme was all about fun! The event was held at the Sheraton Gateway LAX. I can always count on them to treat my clients with kid gloves and give amazing customer service.  As a result, Fidelity staff members spent the evening playing video games, enjoying sumptuous cuisine, and working together in teams during a gameshow competition.

I ended my 4th quarter by working with one of my favorite vendors, Inventive Lighting. They were hired to produce a holiday party on a dock in San Pedro’s Ports o’ Call Village.  I had a great time arranging the décor. And, being able to cruise along the harbor aboard one of the LA Maritime Institute’s Tall Ships was the perfect way to end my 2017 event season!!!

Here’s looking to an equally outstanding 2018 and greater success for Wynning Touch Event Design!
